Program Outline

The program is structured around Painting as a core component. The program is studio-based and students are expected to develop their own work with tutorial and technical assistance from a specialist team of academic and technical staff. Cross-area seminars and tutorial groups ensure that painting areas has a forum for the exchange of ideas. The B.V.A Contemporary Art is designed to provide students with the ability to reference their work within a broad cultural context and enable them to develop verbal and writing skills to articulate the development of their work within a critical context.

In addition to the regular tuition, critique sessions and discussion by the members of faculty, visits of distinguished contemporary artists are also arranged. Outdoor education comprises visits to museums, art exhibitions and scenic spots. Knowledgeable subjects like History of Art and Aesthetics are taught with visual aids like slides, films and colored reproductions etc.

The program aims to develop the individual visual intelligence students bring with them; develop their critical awareness and understanding of fine art and its contexts; and provide the intellectual and practical resources to enable them to realize their creative potential as a professional artist.

Eligibility

a. HSC with minimum 50% marks from recognized boards in any discipline.

b. Lateral Entry to B.V.A II year: Any candidate having passed XII and obtained a one year Diploma in Art, Foundation or Art Teacher diploma (ATD) from Directorate of Art, Maharashtra is eligible for lateral entry to II year (3rd Semester) of UG degree.

    The program is structured around Applied Art as a core component. The term “Applied Art” refers to the application of artistic design solutions to Advertising, Printing and Design in everyday use & much more. The program is technology-based and students are expected to develop their own work with tutorial and technical assistance from a specialist team of academic and technical staff. Cross-area seminars and tutorial groups ensure that painting areas has a forum for the exchange of ideas. The BFA in Applied Arts focuses on the overall creative and skill development of students with adequate support of state-of-the-art facilities to ensure qualitative education. This would include drawing studio, photography studio, and computer lab and workshop area.

    MGM University offers professional Undergraduate education in the field of Interior Design. The objective of these program is to inculcate in the students the aptitude and skills to work as professionals in various functional areas of Interior Industry.

    B.Design Interior Design program provides opportunities to boys and girls, a learning pathway in the field of Interior and Design. It nurtures the personal creativity of the students, and encourages innovations in design thinking to develop as an autonomous learner, thinker and practitioner.     Annual Art Exhibition of MGM Fine Art -Interior Design, where students get a platform for understanding the design process from concept to creation. This Art Exhibition is the wonderful way for the student to show their talent and enthusiasm for their future careers in the Interior industry.     BFA Traditional Art & Craft is a degree program which inculcates great expressive qualities in the domain of art and creativity. Initial years in pottery and ceramics, introduces the students to fundamentals of design to enhance their sensibility and sensitivity towards aesthetics and function of design.

    BFA Traditional Art & Craft is a four-year program comprising of eight semesters and credit based programs. Apart from carrying out hands-on ceramics design and creation activities, the students research designs, and new materials, build and promote a creative and vibrant portfolio and interact with clients, other craftsmen, museums, and galleries. They can also have standalone displays of their work at craft fairs, exhibitions, and trade shows.

    With deeper understanding of technology, production techniques, material skills, the students can work in varied industries. Pottery and ceramics provide extensive prospects in field of craft, architectural spaces, healthcare, hospitality industry, home décor, hi tech products and lifestyle product categories.
